Over the years we had to be very careful in the food choices we made for Sarah when she was growing up. Sarah was a  neophobic (a.k.a picky eater) and she did not like certain textures. We would introduce certain healthy foods to her a little bit at a time and reward her with something she liked. Eventually she began to really like raw vegetables and water. It was a slow process but she is much more healthy. A child with Autism who is a neophobic will grow up to be an adult with Autism who is a  neophobic so start introducing healthy foods right away.
