Placenta Problems causing Autism?

I have been reading some articles that say there are sometimes wrinkles in or on the placenta that has caused concern for a possible Autism diagnosis. This is really interesting for me because when I was in labor with Sarah my placenta separated from her. When I was in labor with her I was hemorrhaging and that is when the placenta separated. Very interesting.

  1. Thanks for following my blog. It sounds like you have an important story to tell as well.

I was wondering if you had any thought on the impact of the new DSMV diagnosis manual. I am trying to understand how past autism studies can be compared to new ones, when the criteria has been changed.
    Best of luck to you.

    • Hi Jack thank you for following my blog. I am very new to this, but I think getting our individual messages out there about Autism and the broad spectrum of it is very important! I am very much against changing the diagnosis. I think for the children and adults on these spectrum’s it would be confusing and families with these challenges do not need anymore confusion in their lives. I think they consider the new diagnosis as an upgrade from the old ones, but I am concerned that their will be a lot of children and adults with these certain diagnosis of Autism will some how fall through the cracks and not get the services they need.
